Windows operating system is synonymous to computing. Whether the discussion is regarding home, business, small office or enterprise level computing, it is always on the front. It provides the basic platform to allow other applications to run, and holds the centralized position in the service-list of every computer technical support provider. It can be counted in every aspect right from the computer setup to network and troubleshooting, repair and maintenance to optimization, data backup to file sharing and more. It has been equipped with all sorts of features that are required to keep software and hardware components in a sync.
Objective of this PC help article is to address some important aspects of computing related to the Windows OS. Let's discuss one-by-one (We will restrict ourselves with Windows 7):
System Restore or Reinstall Windows 7
System Restore is a Microsoft Windows tool, designed to protect and repair the OS. For whatever reason the system plunges into system software related issues, and loses the control on the machine, System Restore can return it to working condition without a full reinstallation i.e. your documents, pictures, or other data won't be affected. Some manufacturers do provide a hidden partition on your hard drive that contains an exact copy of your computer's original factory software. The ultimate solution to fix computer issue is to reinstall the Windows directly from the CD or DVD. Remember, to take a backup of your data and other important settings as it would obliterate those. Afterwards, install drivers, configure the OS, install critical and recommended updates, and install applications and restore backed up data files.
