Offline Storage Folder, abbreviated as OST files are nothing but a replica of Exchange mailbox database that can be accessed from the local computer. OST files hold importance for the Exchange users when the Server is downtime or there is no internet connectivity. OST files allow users to work in offline mode and when the Server becomes live, the OST database gets synchronized on Exchange and automatically gets converted to PST file format. But sometimes, the sync process fails and thus automatic conversion of OST to PST also gets disturbed.
All is well until on the connection, the offline mode database gets converted to online mode. The main trouble strikes the user database when Exchange Server permanently gets crashed. Failure of proper data sync of OST files with Exchange leads to data loss which means the updates made in the mailbox database are gone forever. In such situations, OST files become orphaned and it become impossible to access database stored in it. Such drastic situation calls for a reliable OST to PST and MSG converter.
