Employing industry standard protection methods like Anti Virus programs that check data coming into your network, or Firewall technology that guards against known threats and blocks unknown or suspicious incoming traffic is a must for any user, home or business, who wants to protect the integrity of their network. If any of the features you access on the internet became available to a group of hackers, well, it's a situation no-one wants to find themselves in.
The issue here is that this group of hackers has compromised a program designed to allow remote users direct control of a computer. This does not just give the hackers the ability to access the computer and attempt to steal data, it gives them the ability to take control of it; accessing any part as if they were sat down in front of it. And that is just as serious as it sounds.
