Why set up a LAN?
When you have multiple computers, it may be convenient to connect them together to create a local area network (LAN in English, short for Local Area Network). The establishment of such a network is very expensive, contrary to what one might think.
Here are some benefits that will bring you the establishment of a local network:
* File transfer;
* Sharing of resources (sharing the internet connection, printer sharing, shared disks, etc.).
* Mobility (in the case of a wireless network);
* Discussion (mainly when the computers are remote);
* Network play.
Both types of LANs
There are two main types of local network architecture:
* Wired networks based on Ethernet technology, representing almost all local networks. Since Ethernet networks typically use RJ45 cables, often referred to as RJ45 networks;
* Wireless networks, typically using WiFi technology.
