How to: Warlock Cataclysm Guide

Warlocks is maybe the most fun class to play. They use a variety of powerful damage, fear and AoE spells and a Demonic Pet to bring pain upon their enemies. There is a variety of pets to choose from depending on what you need to do: an Imp, a Fel Hunter, a Succubus, a Fel Guard, and even a Fire Golem can be summoned. With these weapons at his side, a Warlock is quite an easy character to level.Let's take a look at how spells, professions and builds work for a Warlock:

Spells

A Warlock has plenty of damage over time (DoT) spells to use, which is great in PvP. If he can use the right technique (combine a few DoT's, continuously fear his opponents while also his pet is chasing them around), he can basically confront any opponent. The Locks also have some nice AoE spells like most other casters and have some other specific abilities. The two most important abilities that you should always use are the Create Healthstone and Create Soulstone abilities. The first one will save your life but even if you do die, your Soulstone will resurrect you on the spot. The best part is that they can also create a Soulstone on other players and help them resurrect. Last but not least is their ability to summon other players which comes in very handy from time to time.

Warlock Professions

Tailoring – Enchanting: These two usually go hand by hand when it comes to Warlocks. Since Locks wear cloth tailoring is proven to be very useful for them while leveling and even on higher levels since the gear they can make with is sufficient to be a good pre-raiding gear. By doing achievements they can obtain two epic cloak patterns from the tailoring trainer. A tailor Warlock can make embroidery for pants which can improve his stats, also could sell it to other players on the Auction House. If he would choose to buy it from other tailors it would cost some valuable mats and gold, while by being a tailor it only costs two Ethernium threads. The Enchanting on the other hand fits Locks perfect since they are dps casters and always need a lot of enchants to improve their performance in raids and instances and also in PVP. Disenchanting is useful for any class and Warlocks are no exception. They could disenchant all the stuff and gear they don't need or want into valuable items like shards, essences and dust. These items could be easily soldon the Auction House to make extra gold. There are also few enchants that an Enchanter can put only on himself, like ring enchants with increased stats and spell power which would make a good Lock be even better.
